For late fall/winter harvest sprouting broccoli.
Beautiful purple florets and sweet and tender green stems. Turns green when cooked. Plants produce over a long harvest period of 3-5 weeks. Suitable for late fall crops in most regions and winter crops in mild areas. Lower vernalization threshold than Red Fire; plants require several weeks of cold temperatures to induce budding. Not for summer production as the florets will be bitter in hot weather. Transplant 24" apart as the large plants need room to reach their full potential. For fall crops seed late spring/early summer; for winter crops sow in late summer. We recommend pinching to encourage heavier side-shoot production.
